Inaugural ASOC Luncheon 2025
Saturday, 22nd November 2025

The School will be open from 12.00 noon for members to have a look round the old place together with guided tours round the new developments and outside grounds. The meal will begin at 1.00 pm, with no lengthy speeches, though Ian Rimmer (Principal) will say a few words about current school developments and Walter Raleigh (ASOC Chair) will give the latst  updates on future ASOC plans.  Students will be  providing some musical entertainment
The rest of the time will for members to chat and enjoy a meal with old friends. We hope it will encourage more of you to join us in this exciting new format.

Founders’ Day 2025
Friday, 21st November 2025

The church service to celebrate the beginning of Founders’ Weekend will take place in All Hallows’ from 1.45 pm on Friday, 21st November.  The service will, once again, be led by our Society Chaplain, Rev. Graeme Carby and usually lasts about an hour followed by tea and biscuits in the church rooms.  Once again all are welcome to join us and enjoy this wonderful afternoon of music, prayers and anecdotes amongst old friends and present students and staff from School.

Rev Graeme Carby (ASOC Chaplain)
Graeme attended King James’s Grammar School from 1962-70. He graduated from Manchester University and initially took up a teaching career. In 1990 he retrained, taking a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology in St John’s College, Nottingham, after which he was ordained as a Deacon (1992) and Priest (1993) In 1996 he became a Team Vicar in Cyncoed, Cardiff.  Graeme retired in 2018 and moved back to Huddersfield. He became Almondburians’ Society Chaplain in 2022.

 Alison attended KJS from 1987-90. She read Music at Huddersfield University and worked for many years as a researcher and assistant producer in the Factual Programmes unit at Yorkshire TV. She subsequently set up, with her husband, an award-winning IT business that is still going strong
Recently Alison decided to train for the priesthood. She is currently studying for a Theology degree and hopes to be ordained Deacon next year. She then plans to be a full-time Curate in a Huddersfield parish before beimg ordained Priest and hopefully havng her own parish.
