The Video Archive captures some filmed and televised King James ’s School or Old Almondburians’ Society activities over the years. Please note that the early material is derived from original footage shot on 8 mm film or recorded on VHS video, and the quality may therefore be variable.
OLD ALMONDBURIANS' AFC v OLD MODERNIANS (1968)

The soccer match between the Old Almondburians and the Leeds-based Old Modernians was always a keenly contested fixture. Shot around 1968 by Dave Bush, this clip shows the match in progress at Old Modernians, and a few of the Old Almondburians players - who include Dave Bush himself - are just recognisable.
The early frames give nostalgic views of Wakefield Road at Waterloo (look out for the old Waterloo Cinema on the right), and there's also a shot of Rushworth's Corner with its familiar rotating clock.

RETIREMENT OF ROBERT LAMB AS HEAD TEACHER (2015)

OAS REUNION AT TROLLEYBUS MUSEUM, SANDTOFT (2016)

On 14th May 2016, a group of Old Almondburians, together with friends and family members, paid a visit to the Trolleybus museum at Sandtoft near Doncaster. One of the operational trolleybuses on display was originally purchased by Stephen Lockwood and David Beach, both of whom took part in the visit.
OAS 100TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER: 20TH NOVEMBER 2022

The principal speakers will be Jacqueline Hart OBE (1976-81) and Prof Edward Royle (1955-62). It was preceded by a Founders’ Day service at Almondbury Parish Church on Friday, 19th November 2022.
INAUGURATION OF ‘BIG TREE’ AND BIG TREE YARD (2023)

At a short ceremony on the afternoon of 17th April 2023, former KJS Head Girl Evelyn Surman and now at Newnham College, Cambridge cuts the tape at the new seating area in Big Tree Yard.
